{"id":163,"date":"2012-09-12T07:45:10","date_gmt":"2012-09-12T07:45:10","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/blog.geofabrik.de\/?p=163"},"modified":"2012-09-12T07:45:10","modified_gmt":"2012-09-12T07:45:10","slug":"trip-to-japan","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/blog.geofabrik.de\/index.php\/2012\/09\/12\/trip-to-japan\/","title":{"rendered":"Trip to Japan"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>If we were a little slow in responding to inquiries during the past two weeks, that&#8217;s because the majority of Geofabrik staff &#8211; read: Christine and myself &#8211; were in Japan, combining participation in this year&#8217;s <a href=\"http:\/\/www.stateofthemap.org\/\">State of the Map<\/a> conference with a little bit of tourism.<\/p>\n<p>Japan is a very interesting country with lots of attractions, and around this time of the year rather warmer and more humid than our home climate. The facilities were excellent; someone mentioned that Tokyo University is not just any university but a rather elite affair where they only take the brightest (or best-connected) students.
